Intelligent fools
In this age of information, no one has an excuse for being a coward, unless they choose to. Today, it is easier to learn about anything with little to no effort, than it was before the internet, thanks to technology. With the internet, you can travel the whole world in the comfort of your bed. You can learn about a different culture or language solo from the comfort of your sofa. The world has been modernized in a way that no one has a valid reason to be dumb unless they also choose to. You can learn how to do anything, get inside a store, shop, and carry home groceries conveniently with just a few clicks in the comfort of your sofa.

As they say, there’s nothing perfect created under the sun by an imperfect being, commonly referred to as man, it is true to say that manmade Information is not an exception to that concept. This means that the pros and cons of the existence of too much information are inevitable. Knowledge is information but not all information is useful. Knowledge as Information can be destructive, constructive, or educative depending on the source. You are not paid for what you know, but you are paid for what you do with what you know. Knowledge is powerful that’s why most people place a higher demand for it, but it is less powerful unless acted upon. The new poor person is the one with knowledge not acted upon.
With the existence of a wealth of information circulating around the internet, it is wise to master information verification or filtering before you apply or share. There are always two sides of a coin. It is worse when people act on destructive information out of ignorance that all information is useful and should be applied without filtering. Contrary to that, we can make the world a better place for us and for everyone around us if we focus on useful information, because yes, it exists, it’s just not popular and sweet.
When information transformed into business, useful content was forced to surrender to its competitor for valid reasons. Wrong information was more widely consumed than its antithesis since there was demand and market for such. People wanted quick ways to be successful and shortcuts to the top and such information was widely consumed without second thoughts. Mediocre content preceded the right content, life ethics was abnormalized while the latter was normalized because people wanted to feel good in their insanity.
It is often said that most people want to go to heaven but no one wants to die. Most people want the food and not the recipe. This means that it’s easier to dream than to pay the price of taking the dream from imagination into reality. When the demand for going to heaven is higher than that of dying, a false doctrine will be invented for a reason best known to the inventors. Also, when the demand for readymade food is higher than the demand for its recipe, a counterfeit convenient recipe will be introduced in the market, mostly for profitable and wrong reasons without caring about the collateral damage. This move often revokes the authentic way at the expense of the counterfeit one. Facts about the internet are that it will always give you what you want and not what you need, and justify your disorders with answers rather than solutions.
In the field of finances, the majority of people are widely fed the popular information about easy ways to make money rather than how to manage money. We have grown with less effective knowledge made popular for the wrong reasons rather than the more effective one of transforming lives and making the world a better place. This has resulted in people mastering the art of making money without a purpose. From self-made gurus and influencers to book writers, from blogs to YouTube videos, it has been made easier and more convenient to learn and apply the principles and ways of making money than to learn how to keep money.
More money should be equal to more responsibility. Money without responsibility is useless. The pursuit of making money should only come after the understanding of its nature, purpose, and intent. There’s always an authentic pattern or channel to how things in life flow and follow. There’s always a procedure to every experiment to achieve better results, and there’s always a recipe for every meal. Everything comes with a manual designed by the creator or the manufacturer. Just because it sounds good and convenient, doesn’t mean it’s the right way or the right manual. It is always believed that, if it easy is for you then it’s not the will of God. There is always a price to pay to any place worth going.
Not every information is useful information, and as far as there’s always an answer to whatever question you have, bear in mind that not every answer is the right answer. Fools too can be gurus, authors, speakers, and teachers just to mention but a few. We are raising a generation of intelligent fools. We are raising people with the wrong tools for the right job, and the right mind but with mediocre content. The only solution to this epidemic of wrong information is to take the initiative to think for ourselves. Learn to think for yourself and always ask yourself what do you think? before you apply anything you read, hear, or watch. Always recommend legitimate sources of information, and keep in mind that the only merit to verify information is not in its popularity but rather in its effectiveness.
